Host automation
When using FFOSSO as a plugin in a sequencer or other host software, you can control parameters via host automation in addition to MIDI automation.
The two systems are fully separate; you can use either one or both in any combination.
Host automation parameters can be assigned from … – Host Automation or the context menu of any control.
Make sure you are using FFOSSO as a plugin, as the host automation dialog and context item are not available in standalone.
Host Automation Dialog
In the table within the dialog, you’ll see all available host automation IDs.
Choose a parameter to assign that ID to in the right column. You can start typing the name of a module or parameter in the box, and it will filter the results to narrow down the list. Its name will be used automatically as the ID name.
Alternatively, you can type a custom name into the left column.
These names will also show up in your host software.
When you want to delete an assignment, click the trashcan icon next to the parameter.
Context Menu
You can also right-click any UI element within the performance view to call up a context menu where you can assign both MIDI automation and host automation. Simply type the host automation ID and press Enter/Return to assign the parameter to that ID.
To set a custom name, use the Host Automation dialog.
